Orogenic/Intrusion-related Au
The Eeyou Ischee project is located in the Opinaca subprovince of the Archean superior province in Northern Quebec. The area is underlain by metasedimentary and felsic plutonic rocks and is intersected by several east-west striking deformation zones that trend towards the advanced stage Éléonore and Cheechoo gold projects. The primary exploration target is orogenic gold and/or intrusion-related gold mineralisation. With no documented history of gold exploration within the project boundaries, Eeyou Istchee represents a rare grassroots opportunity in an underexplored area that has already yielded world-class gold deposits.
Location and Access
The project consists of two large claim blocks covering a total area of 228,794 hectares in Northern Quebec. The claims are situated within 100 kilometers of both the Trans-Taiga Road and Route 167.
Geology and Mineralisation
The Eeyou Istchee Project is situated within the Laguiche metasedimentary migmatite terrane (2728–2698 Ma) of the Opinaca Subprovince. This terrane includes intrusive units, paragneiss, metatexite-diatexite, and amphibolite. Notably, the area hosts Ferron Suite intrusions such as diorites, tonalites, monzodiorites, and monzonites (2710–2700 Ma), which are geochronologically comparable to the Lac Ell intrusive suite at Éléonore. The rocks exhibit high metamorphic grade and represent a largely underexplored terrain with low exploration maturity.
Exploration History
No historical gold exploration has been documented within the current claim blocks of the Eeyou Istchee Project.
Summary of exploration activities conducted by Kenorland Minerals
Since staking the Project in 2024, Kenorland has compiled and digitized historical exploration data within and peripheral to the project area, partially completed a LiDAR survey(with remaining coverage planned for 2025), and scheduled a property-wide, systematic regional till geochemical survey for 2025.
